Terms and Conditions
These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) apply to your use of the Quotem website, web app and mobile apps (together, “Quotem”). By creating an account or using Quotem you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you don’t agree, please don’t use Quotem.
1. Who we are
Quotem is operated by Budhigg Holdings (Pty) Ltd, a private company registered in South Africa (registration number 2026/502523/07).

2. What Quotem does
Quotem is an online marketplace where clients post requests for quotes and independent businesses respond with quotes. Quotem is not a party to any agreement between a client and a business. We don’t perform, supervise, or guarantee the work, and businesses on Quotem are not our employees or agents. Any contract for work, including price, scope, timing, warranties and payment, is between the client and the business.
3. Accounts
- You must be at least 18 and able to enter into a binding agreement.
- Give accurate, current information and keep it up to date.
- Keep your password private. You are responsible for activity on your account; tell us straight away if you suspect misuse.
- One person or business per account. Don’t impersonate anyone.
4. Clients
- Using Quotem as a client is free.
- Describe your request honestly and only post genuine requests for work you intend to have done.
- You are not obliged to accept any quote. Before hiring, check that the business is suitable for your job (for example licences, insurance, references).
5. Businesses
- Business accounts are reviewed before approval, and we may ask for proof of registration (such as a CIPC certificate). Approval does not mean we endorse or guarantee a business.
- Quotes must be honest, clear and in line with the Consumer Protection Act, including your duties to clients about pricing, quality and safety.
- You are responsible for holding any licences, registrations, and insurance your work requires, and for your own taxes.
- Only use client information you receive through Quotem to respond to and carry out that client’s request. Don’t use it for marketing without the client’s consent.
6. Fees and subscriptions
Business access is currently free as part of our early-access offer. If we introduce paid plans, the price, billing period and what is included will be shown before you buy, and you will only be charged if you choose to subscribe. Subscriptions are bought on the Quotem website, renew automatically until cancelled, and can be cancelled at any time with effect from the end of the current billing period. Nothing in these Terms limits any cooling-off or refund rights you have under the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act or the Consumer Protection Act.
7. Acceptable use
You must not:
- post false, misleading, unlawful, abusive, discriminatory or infringing content;
- spam, harass or contact users for purposes unrelated to their request;
- try to get around the platform to avoid fees that apply, or scrape, copy or resell Quotem data;
- upload malware, probe or disrupt our systems, or access accounts that aren’t yours;
- use Quotem for any illegal purpose.
8. Your content
You keep ownership of what you post (quote requests, responses, photos, logos). You give us a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, display and process that content to run Quotem. You confirm you have the right to share it. We may remove content that breaks these Terms.
9. Moderation, suspension and closing your account
We may review content, decline or remove listings, and suspend or close accounts that break these Terms or put users at risk. You can close your account at any time from your profile. See Delete your Quotem account.
10. Third-party services
Quotem uses third-party services such as Google Maps. Your use of those features is also subject to the providers’ terms. If you downloaded the Quotem app from the Apple App Store, Apple’s standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement also applies to the app itself; Apple is not responsible for Quotem or its content and has no obligation to provide support for it.
11. Disclaimers
We work to keep Quotem available and accurate, but it is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the extent the law allows, we don’t guarantee that Quotem will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that any business, client, quote or job will meet your expectations.
12. Limitation of liability
To the extent the law allows, Budhigg Holdings (Pty) Ltd is not liable for work done or not done by businesses, disputes between users, or indirect or consequential loss. Where we are liable, our total liability is limited to the fees (if any) you paid us in the three months before the claim. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded under the Consumer Protection Act or other law, including for gross negligence or fraud.
13. Indemnity
To the extent the law allows, you agree to indemnify us against claims arising from your breach of these Terms, your content, or work you offer or commission through Quotem.
14. Changes
We may update these Terms from time to time and will change the “Last updated” date above. If a change is significant, we will let you know on the site or by email. Continuing to use Quotem after an update means you accept the new Terms.
15. Law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa. Please contact us first so we can try to resolve any complaint. Otherwise, the South African courts have jurisdiction.
